International Medical Evacuation

The Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan provides travel benefits through International SOS (I-SOS) for all enrollees. I-SOS provides short-term insurance coverage up to 12 months with 24-hour telephone access to health providers, assistance with emergency care and evacuation if needed, on-line access to services and country-specific health advisories, among other benefits.

Evacuation Coverage

I-SOS will arrange and pay for ordinary and necessary expense of air and/or surface transportation, medical care during transportation, communications and all usual and customary ancillary charges incurred in moving and transporting a Member to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical care is available, which may be a location other than the Member’s Home Country. I-SOS will also arrange and pay for the reasonable and necessary cost for airfare for the Member to return to his/her Home Country.
