Scholars & Researchers Health Plan

Non-registered students, researchers or other persons in educational roles engaged in a formal program of UCSF, which is approved by the Chancellor, may elect to pay and enroll in the Scholars and Researchers Health Plan (SRHP). This includes previously enrolled students who take time away from the standard curriculum of their school to pursue a course of research or other approved scholarly activity. Coverage is elected by term.

 To enroll, complete a Scholars & Researchers Application 09-10.

Students on an Approved Leave of Absence

Students on University approved leave of absence may elect to pay and enroll in the Scholars and Researchers Health Plan (SRHP) for a maximum of one quarter per lifetime. Applicants must include a copy of the LOA form provided by the Office of Admission and Registrar with their application.

Adult & Child(ren) Dependent(s)

Eligible dependents of fully enrolled/registered UC San Francisco students and researchers may elect to pay and enroll in the Student Insurance Plan. Eligible dependents must be one of the following:

1. Legally married spouse.

2. Domestic Partner who resides with the student. Legal domestic partner must submit an Affidavit of Domestic Partners at time of enrollment.

3. Child who is dependent upon student for support and maintenance and is under the age of 19 (25 if full-time student).

To enroll, complete a Dependent Application 09-10.

End of Term Extension

Students are eligible to purchase the Student Insurance Plan through to the end of the month of the term in which their coverage is terminating. This includes fall, winter, spring or summer quarter terms. If extended, coverage will terminate at 12:01 a.m. of the first day of the month immediately following the expiration date of coverage. The cost is equal to one month of coverage for that term.
