SHCS nurses and medical assistants administer vaccinations, provide lab slips for titer checks, and dispense advice about your immunization status. Some vaccines are available on a drop-in basis; others require an appointment with the travel nurse or a provider. If you need to be screened for TB, see Annual TB Requirement unless you have already met your annual requirement, in which case you may walk-in to Parnassus or Mission Bay during business hours.

**Yellow Fever – vaccine shortage
The U.S. and Canada are experiencing a shortage or are out-of-stock of the normal yellow fever vaccine distributed in the US (YF-Vax) while the manufacturer re-tools their production facilities. FDA approval has been given for Stamaril, the yellow fever vaccine used in Europe successfully for several years, while supply issues are resolved. SHCS is not able to stock Stamaril. To obtain yellow fever vaccination: Students enrolled in UC SHIP need a referral from SHCS and may seek vaccination from the Public Health Dept or another vaccine provider. The vaccine will be covered at 100% as it is at SHCS. The visit fee (if there is one) will also be covered 100%. You will need to pay out-of-pocket then submit for reimbursement.
How to I obtain reimbursement:
- Complete Anthem medical claim form. Use the same address on this form that you have on file with the Office of the Registrar.
- Submit the claim form, an itemized bill, proof of payment receipt, a copy of the visit note and yellow vaccine record to SHCS:
